Open Question: Never been on a cruise. Drinking ages? Prices?

So my fiance' is leaving for the Navy in May and we want to plan a cruise for the two of us in March for my spring break and one last vacation before he leaves for a long while. He turned 21 last year and I am currently 20 and won't be turning 21 'til August. I was just wondering what are the drinking policies on cruises. I know when some are in U.S. waters it is still 21 but once you go out of U.S. waters the ages change to 18. Or some cruises allow 18-20 year olds to drink wine and beer but not hard liquor which I think is a fair compromise. Some cruises I know don't allow drinking under the age of 21 - no exceptions. I would preferably like a cruise where I can actually consume alcohol on the ship at some point in time if at all possible so I don't have to just go to bars in Mexico or something. I know this might sound a little naive but I really know nothing about cruises. My parents wouldn't be attending so when some ships ask for parental consent for people to drink..do I really have to have my mommy come with me to say that she allows her 20yr old daughter to drink? Can I have like a parent's note? haha. I also understand that even if a website says something, cruise ships can operate a little differently. I have never been on a cruise so if you are docked in the Caribbean, Bahamas, or anywhere in Mexico how long are you typically docked there? I know it's different for every trip but just a general idea? Does anyone know the list of cruise lines where they do allow drinking under the age of 21 outside of U.S waters? What is your experience with cruises? I am not just going to drink of course but it would be nice to sit in the sun with a nice fruity drink or a beer or something. I just want to consider my options :) Any information about cruises, drinking ages, and prices will be very helpful! :) Thanks!

Open Question: Beautiful quiet crystal clear warm beaches in the caribbean?

I want to take a trip to the caribbean but don't know what beach is the best for me. I was thinking of cancun and punta cana cause theyre on my budget but there are a lot of buildings in front of the beach in those locations.. Can anyone recommend something?

Open Question: How to book a family trip requiring 5 hotel rooms ?

My family and I are planning on going on a trip (possibly somewhere in the caribbean, the Bahamas maybe) There are 10 of us going (11 including a friend that I bring) We were trying t find an all inclusive family resort, but we would need 5 hotel rooms. Most of the sites that I've looked on said that there is 4 rooms. Would we have to call the resort to book 5 rooms ? Also what are some nice all inclusive family resorts in the caribbean (Bahamas, or any other places that you know of) Thanks ! :)

Voting Question: How the hell do they afford it?

Okay, so, I'm an American college student. I'm a a very outdoors-ish kind of person, and I like to travel around and see new stuff and all that. But I've never been anywhere extremely interesting, and I've never left the United States. I talk to people my age that have done so much stuff it's infuriating, people my age who have been to places like Austalia, Africa, New Zealand, Europe, and I'm thinking to myself "How in the world do they afford to go places like that? It's expensive as hell!!!!!" And I"m not talking about going away for volunteering trips where your expenses are paid, I'm talking about real, expensive travel. And then I hear about people doing all this awesome stuff over Spring break like going to Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean, while I'm stuck at home. I don't get it, do their parents pay for all that? If I asked my parents if I could have thousands of dollars to fly someplace out of the country, they'd probably laugh at me since they're already paying for my college. Are some kids just spoiled or what?

Resolved Question: I am trying to plan a cruise for my 30th birthday and that wont be till 2013 but I wanted to get some advice.?

I was thinking about Jamaica, Bahamas or Caribbean Islands for a 4 or 5 day cruise. I know we need passports that's why I am starting early and because we are trying to be able to make payments as well. I was thinking between June and August how do I find out about the weather and where can I find the cheapest because I live in California so I would have to fly as well. So for the experts where should I go? As far as the trip and booking is there a way to book flight with cruise or automatically have to do that separately? Please advise with you expertise. I go on a trip for my birthday every year, usually go abroad or the caribbean but this year I am considering going somewhere in the United States. Where can I take a nice, relaxing, romantic trip to? it will be a 4 day get away at the end of February or March. We have been to Vegas and New York before, we are looking for something different. Open Question: Need help with a cruise vacation!?

Okay, so me and my family possibly want to take a vacation on a cruise to the Bahamas/Bermuda/Caribbean ..well, any of them. I live in Pennsylvania so something were you can get on the ship in New York or New Jersey. This cruise needs to be at LEAST 7 days long. I am 13 so it would be nice to have some activities for "teens" like hangout areas, ect. This cruise can't be expensive!! NO NO NO! - Please give me the name of the cruise, website, your cruise story on it (if you have one) , Why do you reccommend it, and on a scale 1-10 (1 being worse, 10 being best) what would you rate, and your pros and cons about it! Resolved Question: How do I get rid of muscular arms?

I'm a skinny girl with muscular arms. I hate my arms! They are entirely too masculine. I plan to go to the Caribbean for spring break, and I want to be able to wear sleeveless shirts and swimsuits and still feel feminine. Because I also want to tone my legs before the trip, I've been running and doing pilates, but I tend to have sore arms afterward which leads me to think that I'm also working the muscles in my arms. I have tried to lower my protein intake to about or less than 30g a day, but I'm afraid it's not enough. What exercises do I need to avoid to prohibit an increase in my arm muscles? And how can I make sure that I can loose some of this muscle in time? I just want skinny arms, not muscular skinny arms. Please help. Thanks

Resolved Question: Would/do you take vacations without your kids (teens and younger)?

My mom went to Las Vegas, Monterey, London, and France (those are just a few) places when I was a kid and left my brother and I home with my grandparents. As I got older (teens), I resented her more and more for taking trips to places like London, where I said many times that I wanted to go. Even when I was 16, I could understand why taking an 8 year old to London would be pointless, but a 16 year old could appreciate it so much more. Now, at 26 and with a baby of my own, I hear stories from my husband and In-laws about all the trips my in-laws took on cruises, the Caribbean and so forth without their kids (as kids and teens, forget about now). Again, I can understand how it would be a waste of money to pay for kids to go on some trips that they won't remember or appreciate, but overall, I'm just afraid i'll feel too guilty if I did it to my kids. Remembering how much I still resent my mom for leaving me behind on her trips; I don't want my kids resenting me. I'm not trying to be "the cool mom" or anything special; I have every intention of disciplining and raising my kids to hopefully be respectful and responsible adults. I don't want to spoil them, but I also want to give them some fun experiences and memories like I hear from my husband. At the same time, I also want to be able to have a bit of one-on-one, alone time with my husband, and maybe a trip to Vegas or Hawaii without the kids at some point in the next 20 years...I just can't help but think of my feelings towards my mom's action and feel guilty at the thought of doing that to them. Would you take a trip without your kids?
